If you’ve taken any level of agility at DePAW, you are welcome to come to drop-in agility! This is an unstructured hour where you and your dog can access our agility equipment and run through a course set up by our trainer. The trainer will be in and out of the room to help answer questions, but no new skills will be taught. Minimum age requirement: 4 months old and must meet vaccination & fecal requirements Class limit: 6 dogs

Learn the fundamentals of agility and how to encourage your dog through simple obstacles while developing primary skills, confidence, and enthusiasm. Agility is a great way to bond with your dog and enhance their listening skills while also getting out their extra energy!  This class is perfect for those that want to test the water while enjoying fun exercise with their dog. Minimum age requirement of 6 months AND must meet vaccination & fecal requirementsPrerequisite: Intro to Agility, or comparable agility experience  Class limited to 6 dogs

This class will build off of Intro to Obedience, practicing engagement, the “place” command, and loose leash walking, while also adding in sit-stay, down-stay, and recall. We will work on increasing your dogs’ focus and continue to improve their skills by practicing longer durations of each cue and adding in more distractions.  Minimum age requirement of 6 months and must meet vaccination & fecal requirements Prerequisite - Intro to Obedience or trainer approval  Class limited to 8 dogs

If you have a new puppy between 10 weeks and 6 months old, these drop-in socialization sessions are for you! During this free, 45-minute playtime, your puppy will be supervised by a DePAW trainer while interacting with other puppies. These are drop-off play sessions, in order to see how your puppy acts without you around. It will also help your pup build confidence and become comfortable at DePAW before participating in daycare, training, or overnight lodging. Class minimum: 2 puppies; maximum: 6 puppies

Does your dog ignore you when you call them? Do they only come when they feel like it? Recall is one of the most important commands.  Besides being helpful in many situations, it can literally save your dog’s life! This class will teach you how to help your dog understand your recall command (usually “come” or “here”) and help them practice in various environments, indoor and outdoor.  Minimum age requirement: 4 months old and must meet vaccination & fecal requirements Class limit: 8 dogs  

Socialization is the key to helping a puppy grow up happy and healthy. In this class, you will learn how to help properly introduce your puppy to all the new people and things  they will encounter in their young lives as they are constantly exploring their environment. Topics covered will include things such as children, items on wheels, medical/vet equipment, and the many other things that puppies find scary. While your puppies get a chance to interact with each other and play, we will go over what appropriate play is and what to do if it’s not.    Minimum age requirement: 4 months old and must meet vaccination & fecal requirements Maximum age requirement: 8 months old and must meet vaccination & fecal requirements Class limit: 8 puppies
