These one-hour group walks are a unique experience utilizing our surrounding real-life environments as our training playground! Specifically, they are in-town or park pack walks where a group of dogs, along with their people, go for a working walk together in a structured environment, led by DePAW trainers. These walks can safely and effectively provide your dog with exercise, training, impulse control, and socialization, which makes this a great outlet for ANY dog! While the dogs are walking and exploring, they are also learning to practice self-control, develop social intelligence, and listen to their people in a world with a variety of distractions. It is working and training, but mostly it’s FUN!! The Canine Good Citizen (or CGC) test was created by the American Kennel Club to help owners teach their dogs to be well-mannered members of the community. There are 10 parts to this test, including skills such as walking nicely on leash, sitting politely to be petted, coming when called, and being quiet when left with a stranger . In our 4-week CGC class, we will practice for all 10 parts during weeks 1-3, and our CGC-certified evaluator will test you and your dog on week 4. Learn the fundamentals of agility and how to encourage your dog through simple obstacles while developing primary skills, confidence, and enthusiasm. Agility is a great way to bond with your dog and enhance their listening skills while also getting out their extra energy!  This class is perfect for those that want to test the water while enjoying fun exercise with their dog.   Minimum age requirement of 6 months AND must meet vaccination & fecal requirements Prerequisite: Intro to Agility, or comparable agility experience  Class limited to 6 dogs

If your dog struggles to be quiet and calm in a crate either at home or at DePAW during daycare or lodging, this class is for you. The trainer will teach you skills and suggest tools specific to your dog in order to help him or her relax in a crate both alone and with distractions present. We will practice crate manners in our training room, but you will learn how to practice at home, as well. Minimum age requirement of 4 months AND must meet full vaccination & fecal requirements Class limit: 8 dog Please bring high value treats for this class, and have your dog on a 6-foot leash.
